hill about 20' drop in elevation middle of 400' driveway

Any advice? It drops off on the left as you look at it. Seems that you would want to cut the right side of the hill and swing the drive that way so your not building the drive on fill? looks like there would be potential water problems to plan for. Don't know what you can see from the photo? Excavators were kind of new around here when I got out of constuction. Guess that's what a equiptment guy would use today? I think that a good size dozer could cut and push a rough drive ready for gravel in a day.

garage site west of house

If we build a garage it would be here. Will be a turn around for a while. Maybe a apartment up stairs. Want to build the septic to acomidate future expansion whether the house stays in our family or we sell it.

upper hill in drive

south east cornner of house

Took a big dinasor to lay that. Anybody ever split rocks by drilling along seams and using wood wedges and wetting them. Have read about it and seen drawings in books but never met anyone who did it. Those hammer drills would make the drilling easy. If you could split it into 5 0r 6 " thick pieces it would make a nice patio or entry I think.

view from house back up drive

West side of the house. Veiw as you drive up

This is the first veiw of the house site as you drive up. What would I like to see there? If I didn't have to think about money it would be a stone cottage with a steeped pitch slate roof and lots of gables. Shake's, Stucco (straw bale)? I'm leaning toward reverse board and batten pine siding with horizotal slab siding on the gables.
